Relocating families. An overlooked market segment for nursing
Abstract:
Occupational health nurses are capable of supporting the coping skills of families during relocations. However, nurses must "market" this expertise to human resource personnel. Relocation affects the family's ability to adapt to stress, disruption of health care provider service, child care for working parents, and continuity of care for chronic health problems. Encouraging planning, effective goal setting, and efficient time management skills can augment coping strategies.
