Quantifying dispersal of a non-aggressive saprophytic bark beetle

Dispersal of the bark beetle Hylurgus ligniperda was studied using mark-recapture. Flight-experienced beetles dispersed over long distances, while flight-naïve beetles did not show this pattern.
