Summary
Programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) is expressed in a small subset of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (eCCA) and correlates with aggressive tumor features. PD-L1 expression combined with low CD3+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes indicates a poor prognosis in eCCA.
