    • 10 Danish military personnel deployed to Greenland for 26 months were studied.
    • Subjects completed personality and values questionnaires (NEO PI-R, Triarchic Psychopathy Measure, Portrait Values Questionnaire) pre/post and biweekly during deployment.
    • Structured interviews and monthly cognitive function tests were also conducted.

    Main Results:

    • The group exhibited generally well-adjusted personalities, with high conscientiousness and agreeableness.
    • Personal values centered on benevolence and self-direction were highly rated.
    • No significant changes in affect or cognitive function were observed over the annual light/dark cycle.

    Conclusions:

    • The personal values and traits observed were compatible with extended group living in an ICE environment.
    • Interpersonal disagreements significantly impacted group functioning, emphasizing the need for intervention strategies.
    • Enhanced conflict resolution training is recommended for long-duration missions to prevent group fragmentation.
