    Background:

    • Obesity is a growing global health concern.
    • Previous studies suggest a link between obesity and increased colon adenoma risk.
    • Obesity may influence the pattern of adenoma recurrence after initial detection.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate if metachronous adenoma characteristics differ between obese and non-obese patients undergoing colonoscopy surveillance.
    • To identify factors associated with metachronous adenoma development.

    Main Methods:

    • Prospective evaluation of 825 patients aged over 18 undergoing surveillance colonoscopy.
    • Obesity defined by a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30.
    • Comparison of metachronous adenoma rates, size, location, morphology, and histology between obese and non-obese groups.
