    Background:

    • Periodontal disease often necessitates tooth immobilization to aid healing and prevent further damage.
    • Traditional splinting methods can be invasive or lack long-term stability.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and durability of fiberglass-reinforced composite (FRC) splints for temporary tooth immobilization in periodontally compromised teeth.

    Main Methods:

    • Twenty-one FRC splints were fabricated using fiberglass, BIS-GMA resin, and an acid-etch technique.
    • The splints were bonded to periodontally diseased teeth for temporary immobilization.
    • Clinical observation was conducted over a period of 4 to 14 months.

    • The majority of the fiberglass splints demonstrated successful function without failure during the observation period.
