Summary

Disappearing nail bed (DNB) is a common nail condition, affecting 13.15% of patients studied. This phenomenon is more prevalent in older individuals and linked to fungal nail infections (onychomycosis).

  • The nail bed can undergo epithelialization and develop dermatoglyphics following prolonged onycholysis.
