This study reports a rare case of sinonasal schwannoma, a benign nerve tumor, in a 35-year-old man. Successful surgical removal prevented recurrence, highlighting effective management for this uncommon nasal cavity tumor.

Area of Science:

  • Otolaryngology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Oncology

Background:

  • Schwannomas are benign peripheral nerve sheath tumors.
  • They are rare in the nasal cavity, accounting for less than 4% of head and neck schwannomas.

Observation:

  • A 35-year-old man presented with a two-year history of nasal blockage.
  • Imaging revealed a mass in the sinonasal region.

Findings:

  • A sinonasal schwannoma was diagnosed.
  • The tumor was successfully surgically excised.
  • No postoperative complications or recurrence were noted within one year.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the importance of considering schwannomas in the differential diagnosis of sinonasal masses.
