Diagnosing giant cell arteritis (GCA) without temporal artery pain can be delayed, risking blindness. Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) aids GCA diagnosis and should include evaluation of shoulder and hip joints for associated polymyalgia rheumatica.
