[A case of torsion of the undescended testicle]

An eight-year-old boy was admitted to our hospital with the chief complaint of pain and swelling of the left inguinal testicle which had occurred 4 days earlier. Surgical findings revealed 180 degrees clockwise rotation of the testicle, and necrosis of the testicle and epididymis, and then left orchidectomy was performed. The post-operative diagnosis was torsion of the undescended testicle with hemorrhagic infarction. We discussed on the pre-operative diagnosis and the treatment of this disease.
