Summary

The portal vein-to-aorta ratio is a useful computed tomography measurement in dogs with portal hypertension. This ratio differs significantly between dogs with chronic hepatitis, primary hypoplasia of the portal vein, and extrahepatic congenital portosystemic shunts.
