Summary

Associated liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) offers a solution for extensive colorectal liver metastases. Monosegmental ALPPS, using just one liver segment, is a feasible option for select patients in specialized centers.

A small future liver remnant (FLR) is a common limitation for patients requiring hepatectomy.
Associated liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) is an established approach for managing extensive liver tumors and limited FLR.
