Coronary Slow Flow Phenomenon and Atrioventricular Block: A Case Report

Coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP) can present with complete heart block (CHB). This case report highlights a potential link between CSFP and conduction system disorders, previously unrecognized.

- Coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP) involves delayed coronary blood flow without obstructive disease.
- Previous research links CSFP to myocardial ischemia, but its association with conduction system disorders is unknown.
Observation:
- A middle-aged woman with diabetes and hypertension presented with dizziness and presyncope.
- Electrocardiography showed complete heart block (CHB) without ST-T changes; cardiac enzymes were normal.
Findings:
- Coronary angiography revealed CSFP but no significant coronary artery stenosis.
- The patient required temporary and then permanent pacemaker implantation due to persistent atrioventricular block.
Implications:
- This case suggests a potential association between CSFP and complete heart block.
- Further research is warranted to explore the relationship between coronary microvascular dysfunction and cardiac conduction abnormalities.
