Cardiac amyloidosis, a cause of heart failure, can be assessed using iodine-123 labelled metaiodobenzylguanidine ([I-123]MIBG) scans. These scans help detect sympathetic denervation, which is linked to a poorer prognosis in specific amyloidosis types.
