A novel aerobic bacterium, Hydrogenophaga aquatica sp. nov. (strain CC-KL-3T), was identified from a hot spring. This new species expands the known diversity within the Hydrogenophaga genus.

Conclusions:
- Strain CC-KL-3T represents a novel species within the genus Hydrogenophaga, family Comamonadaceae.
- The proposed name for this new species is Hydrogenophaga aquatica sp. nov., with strain CC-KL-3T as the type strain.
