Abstract:
Families carrying an inherited risk of cancer are important for two reasons. In clinical practice they may provide opportunities for early diagnosis or prevention. They are of interest for research because the inherited gene may increase the risk of a specific cancer by 1000-fold or more, and we would like to know what these genes do.
