[Conception and implementation of a novel E-learning module with EbM learning contents in operative dentistry]

Background:

• Computer-assisted learning (CAL) is increasingly utilized in medical and dental education.

Purpose of the Study:

• To assess the acceptance and user-friendliness of a CAL program specifically designed for evidence-based training in dentistry.
• To determine the perceived value of integrating evidence-based medicine (EbM) content into dental curricula via CAL.

• A case-oriented, problem-based CAL module featuring 32 EbM learning assignments was developed.
• 114 dental students from Goethe University Frankfurt participated, completing questionnaires on acceptance and user-friendliness.
• The study evaluated handling, technical aspects, content, functionality, didactics, and educational suitability of the CAL program.

• A 100% response rate was achieved, with 90.1% of students deeming EbM topics important for their training.
