Osteochondroma of the Cuboid: A Case Report

• A 29-year-old male presented with a 3-year history of aching and shooting pain in his left foot.
• Initial diagnosis was fibroma, with cortisone injections proving ineffective.
• Imaging revealed an osteochondroma on the cuboid bone.

Findings:

• Surgical excision confirmed the osteochondroma diagnosis.
• The patient experienced an uneventful recovery.
• No recurrence was noted at 1.5-year follow-up.

Implications:

• This case highlights the cuboid as a rare site for osteochondroma.
• Despite being benign, pedal osteochondromas can cause significant symptoms and impact quality of life.
• Surgical intervention for cuboid osteochondromas should be individualized based on patient presentation.
