Poststroke depression (PSD) is linked to thalamic lesions and stroke severity. Patients with PSD experienced longer hospital stays and worse functional outcomes, impacting rehabilitation.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To identify predictors of poststroke depression (PSD) in the acute phase.

  • 175 stroke patients assessed for depressive symptoms using Patient Health Questionnaire-9 at 5 and 30 days.
