Abstract:
Oriental cholangitis is a common illness among immigrants from Southeast Asia. It is distinct from typical western cholangitis, and it is easily misdiagnosed unless a high index of suspicion is maintained. After stabilization with appropriate antimicrobial therapy, surgical drainage of the biliary tree is often advocated.
