Summary

Collagen fiber orientation around ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) lesions, not syndecan-1, showed associations with poor prognostic markers. Fibers perpendicular to ducts were more common in aggressive DCIS, suggesting potential for future outcome prediction.
