[Esophagogastrectomy with intrathoracic anastomosis by the transdiaphragmatic abdominal approach]

Dissection of the inferior mediastinum and of the lower esophagus can be performed through an abdominal transdiaphragmatic approach, after division of the diaphragmatic crura or excision of a muscular cuff around the oesophageal hiatus. The E.E.A. stapler permits an easy gastric or jejunal anastomosis with the esophagus.
