    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate auditory brainstem evoked responses (ABRs) in Japanese infants and children with Down syndrome.
    • To determine the location of auditory pathway lesions causing unresponsiveness to sound stimuli.

    Main Methods:

    • Auditory brainstem evoked response (ABR) thresholds, peak latencies of wave I, and the peak interval latency of wave I-V were measured.
    • Behavioral audiometry was performed for comparison with ABR thresholds.
