[Functional tubal obstructions: a great deceiver]

The authors report 40 cases of proximal tubal obstructions++ identified during conventional hysterography practised within a primary or secondary infertility investigation. The functional aspect of these tubal obstruction is easily proved in the great majority of cases by a coeloscopy with permeability test. The most difficult clinical situations are those where coeloscopy does not allow any conclusions concerning the hindrance nature.
