Purpose of the Study:

  • To explore the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of synchronous multiple primary lung cancer (sMPLC).
  • To analyze the clinical data of 31 sMPLC cases.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of diagnostic and surgical methods for sMPLC.

  • Retrospective analysis of clinical data from 31 sMPLC patients.

  • All patients underwent thoracoscopic surgery.

Conclusions:

  • Thin-layer CT is the optimal preoperative diagnostic tool for sMPLC.
  • Thoracoscopic surgery, including lobectomy plus secondary lesion resection, is a primary treatment approach.
  • sMPLC, particularly ipsilateral adenocarcinoma, can be managed effectively with thoracoscopic procedures, showing no perioperative mortality.
