Aortic annular rupture after transcatheter aortic valve implantation is rare but fatal. Unique "twin icicle" calcifications, not prosthesis oversizing, may trigger this complication.

Background:

  • Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a common procedure for aortic stenosis.
