Risk factors associated with congenital hypothyroidism: a case-control study in southeast Iran

Conclusions:

  • None of the investigated factors were definitive predictors of CH in this cohort.
  • Given the high rate of consanguineous marriages in the region, further research into genetic factors is recommended.
  • Future studies should explore the genetic underpinnings of CH in the Iranian population.
