Choosing the Allometric Exponent in Covariate Model Building

Selecting the correct allometric exponent for total body weight (WT) and clearance (CL) is challenging. Study design, sample size, and between-subject variability (BSV) significantly impact exponent estimation and selection accuracy.

- Bias in allometric exponent estimation is primarily a concern when extrapolating clearance values outside the studied population, such as from adults to children.
