• To design and describe a prototype for a national preceptor development program.

• Utilized twelve evidence-based recommendations from prior work.
• Developed a prototype over a three-month period through experimentation with designs and models.
• Constructed the prototype as an electronic learning platform.

• The electronic learning platform prototype includes sections on preceptor spotlight, mentorship, global outreach, continuing professional development, feedback, virtual community, and competency assessment.
• A graphic was developed to illustrate user navigation through the platform.
