Background:

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition.
Newer therapeutic agents are being developed to improve treatment outcomes.
Interleukin-17A and phosphodiesterase 4 are key targets in psoriasis pathogenesis.

Purpose of the Study:

To compare the efficacy and safety profiles of newer psoriasis medications.
To evaluate secukinumab, an interleukin-17A inhibitor.
To assess apremilast, a phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor.

Main Methods:

Review of clinical trial data and published literature.
Comparison of efficacy between secukinumab, apremilast, and adalimumab (a TNF-α inhibitor).
Analysis of adverse events associated with apremilast.
