Summary

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections enhanced healing for Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) knee lesions. All six patients achieved bone union and improved knee function after arthroscopic fixation with PRP.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of PRP in enhancing the union of OCD type III lesions.
  • To assess functional outcomes in OCD patients treated with PRP and arthroscopic fixation.

  • Six patients with ICRS type III OCD lesions underwent arthroscopic fixation.
  • Chondral flaps were secured using cannulated cancellous screws.
  • Intra-articular PRP injections were administered to promote healing.

  • The average preoperative Tagner-Lysholm knee score was 52.8, improving to 91.8 postoperatively.
