  • 1University Professor, Scott H. Bice Chair in Healthcare Law, Policy and Ethics (Gould School of Law), Professor of Medicine and Law (Keck School of Medicine), and Co-Director of the Pacific Center for Health Policy and Ethics, University of Southern California. He has served as chair of Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) and President of the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics and of the International Bioethics Association. An elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Law Institute, Prof. Capron's articles and books address ethical, social, and legal issues in research and medical care, organ donation and transplantation, genetics, patient safety, and public health.
