Summary

Endoscopic sympathetic clipping (ESC) is recommended for treating hyperhidrosis due to a lower incidence of compensatory hyperhidrosis (CH) compared to sympathicotomy. Sympathectomy and sympathicotomy showed similar CH rates for upper limb and facial hyperhidrosis.

Purpose of the Study:

  • Sympathectomy and sympathicotomy yield comparable outcomes regarding CH for upper limb and facial hyperhidrosis when performed at the same sympathetic levels.
  • Endoscopic sympathetic clipping (ESC) is recommended over sympathicotomy to reduce the incidence of compensatory hyperhidrosis.
  • Further research may explore long-term outcomes and patient-reported satisfaction across all techniques.
