Summary

The session rating of perceived exertion (sRPE) is a valid and easy method for quantifying internal training load in high-intensity functional training (HIFT). Recall timing of sRPE does not affect its validity for HIFT practitioners.

  • sRPE provides a reliable alternative to heart-rate-based methods for monitoring training load in HIFT practitioners.
