Reliability of Ultrasonography in Evaluating Hyoid Bone Movement

Ultrasonography reliably measures hyoid bone displacement during swallowing, showing high accuracy when compared to videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS). This technique offers a reproducible method for assessing swallowing function.
