Summary

Shared decision-making (SDM) in genetic counseling shows potential but needs improvement. Training genetic counselors in SDM may enhance patient-centered care and outcomes for those at risk for genetic abnormalities.

  • Further research should focus on optimizing SDM in genetic counseling practice.
