Community Based Intervention01:30

Community Based Intervention

483
Community-based interventions in mental health represent a paradigm shift from institution-centered care to treatments embedded within the fabric of local communities. By prioritizing inclusion and leveraging existing societal structures, this approach fosters a supportive environment conducive to addressing mental health challenges while promoting individual dignity and agency.

Fruit Development, Structure, and Function01:58

Fruit Development, Structure, and Function

25.3K
Fruits form from a mature flower ovary. As seeds develop from the ovules contained within, the ovary wall undergoes a series of complex changes to form fruit. In some fruits, such as soybeans, the ovary wall dries; in other fruits, such as grapes, it remains fleshy. In some cases, organs other than the ovary contribute to fruit formation; such fruits are called accessory fruits.

Nursing Interventions I: Taxonomy of Nursing Interventions

3.9K
Nursing interventions are chosen as part of the planning process to achieve patient outcomes. Once nursing diagnoses are determined, the goals and outcomes are specified, then the nursing interventions are selected and individualized according to the patient's situation.
A nursing intervention is a treatment or action based on scientific concepts and knowledge from the nursing, behavioral, and physical sciences. Identifying and prioritizing nursing interventions based on the desired outcome...

Nursing Interventions II: Selecting and Classifying the Nursing Interventions

3.3K
Creating and executing a nursing diagnosis helps nurses plan care and guide patient, family, and community interventions. They are developed based on a patient's physical evaluation and support measuring the outcomes. It is not recommended to select random interventions throughout the planning process. Instead, consider the following six essential factors when choosing interventions:

Exponential Functions with Base e01:30

Exponential Functions with Base e

254
Exponential functions with base e are essential for modeling continuous processes of growth and decay. The constant e, approximately 2.718, naturally arises in systems where change occurs proportionally to the current value. A positive exponent represents continuous growth, while a negative exponent represents continuous decay. These functions are especially useful for describing situations where change happens smoothly over time rather than in discrete steps. One clear example of exponential...

Operant Conditioning Intervention01:24

Operant Conditioning Intervention

512
Operant conditioning serves as a foundational principle in therapeutic interventions aimed at modifying maladaptive behaviors. Central to this approach is the notion that behaviors, both adaptive and maladaptive, are learned through reinforcement. By analyzing the environmental factors that reinforce problematic behaviors, clinicians can design interventions to weaken these reinforcements and replace maladaptive behaviors with healthier alternatives.
In operant conditioning, behaviors that are...

Area of Science:

  • Digital health interventions
  • Tinnitus management
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Background:

  • Access to evidence-based tinnitus treatments in the UK needs improvement.
  • Innovative digital solutions are required to enhance treatment accessibility.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop an internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) intervention for tinnitus.
  • To conduct technical functionality testing to identify areas for improvement in the iCBT.

Main Methods:

  • Developed an iCBT intervention based on a cognitive-behavioural framework.
  • Evaluated the iCBT through expert reviews (n=5) and user testing with adults experiencing tinnitus distress (n=29).
  • Utilized an independent measures design with a satisfaction outcome measure.

Main Results:

  • High user satisfaction reported by both expert reviewers and adults with tinnitus.
  • Positive ratings for content, suitability, presentation, usability, and exercises.
  • The iCBT intervention was refined based on technical functionality testing.

Conclusions:

  • The developed iCBT intervention for tinnitus has undergone rigorous testing.
  • Evaluation results provide confidence for initiating clinical trials in the UK.
  • Further trials will assess the feasibility and effectiveness of this iCBT for tinnitus management.
