Background:

  • Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a key therapy for Parkinson's disease (PD).

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the outcomes of STN DBS using micro-electrode guidance in PD patients.
  • To assess motor disturbances, medication requirements, and quality of life post-surgery.

  • A cohort of 20 idiopathic Parkinson's disease patients underwent micro-electrode guided STN DBS.
  • Motor symptoms (OFF hours), medication needs (levodopa equivalents), and quality of life (PDQ-39) were analyzed 3 months post-surgery.
