Summary

Hearing loss, not age, impairs spectral envelope perception, especially at higher frequencies. This suggests reduced spectral resolution in hearing loss affects how we perceive sound envelopes.

  • Advancing age alone, within the tested range, did not negatively impact spectral envelope perception.
