Decomposing the Variance in Reading Comprehension to Reveal the Unique and Common Effects of Language and Decoding

The Simple View of Reading model shows that reading comprehension depends on decoding and language skills. Our study found that both shared and unique effects of these skills are crucial for reading development across grades.
