Summary

Circulating serotonin levels are significantly elevated in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Higher serotonin in COPD may indicate disease presence and worsening airway obstruction.

  • Assessed whole blood serotonin levels in 43 stable COPD patients and 43 healthy controls.
