Abstract:
A new protostane-type triterpenoid bearing an oxetane ring in the side-chain, named alisol W (1), has been obtained from the dried rhizome of Alisma plantago-aquatica subsp. orientale. The structure and absolute configuration of compound 1 was determined from extensive spectroscopic analysis. In addition, the vasorelaxant activity and the inhibition on 11β-HSD1 of compound 1 were also evaluated, however, it didn't show remarkable effects.

Types of RNA
Three main types of RNA are involved in protein synthesis: messenger RNA (mRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA), and ribosomal RNA (rRNA). These RNAs perform diverse functions and can be broadly classified as protein-coding or non-coding RNA. Non-coding RNAs play important roles in the regulation of gene expression in response to developmental and environmental changes. Non-coding RNAs in prokaryotes can be manipulated to develop more effective antibacterial drugs for human or animal use.
