Pulmonary function in patients with ulcerative colitis and its relationship with disease severity

Background:

• Ulcerative colitis (UC) is associated with various systemic and extraintestinal manifestations.
• Pulmonary involvement in UC patients lacks consistent study findings regarding frequency and predictors.

Purpose of the Study:

• To prospectively investigate the frequency and characteristics of pulmonary function abnormalities in patients with ulcerative colitis.
• To identify predictors of pulmonary involvement in UC.
