Does metformin usage improve survival in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma? A population-based study

Metformin did not improve survival for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). This study found no survival advantage for HNSCC patients taking metformin at diagnosis.

- Metformin use at diagnosis did not demonstrate a survival advantage for HNSCC patients.
- The findings do not support the use of metformin to improve survival in this patient population.
