Summary

Tofacitinib effectively treated two patients with severe uveitis and scleritis that did not respond to other therapies. This research suggests tofacitinib as a new treatment for refractory noninfectious inflammatory eye diseases.

Background:

  • Both patients had previously failed multiple conventional immunosuppressive treatments.
