Background:

Linear IgA dermatosis (LAD) is a rare autoimmune blistering disease.
Systemic manifestations of LAD are uncommon, particularly in pediatric cases.

Observation:

Two patients, aged 8 and 34 years, presented with LAD and significant systemic symptoms.
Both experienced preceding fever and sore throat (5-10 days prior to rash onset).
Severe arthralgia (joint pain) accompanied the cutaneous eruption in both individuals.

Findings:

The described cases highlight a potential association between LAD and systemic inflammatory symptoms.
Arthralgia in these patients was directly linked to the active skin eruption.
Resolution of joint pain was observed following successful treatment of the dermatosis.

Implications:

This suggests that systemic symptoms, including arthralgia, may be a feature of LAD, requiring comprehensive patient evaluation.
Effective management of the underlying dermatosis is crucial for alleviating associated systemic manifestations.
Further research is warranted to elucidate the immunopathogenesis linking skin and joint symptoms in LAD.
