Clock gene expression is altered in veterans with sleep apnea

Sleep apnea (SA) is linked to reduced expression of clock genes Per3, NPAS2, Per1, and Rev-Erb-α. This suggests a connection between sleep apnea, nocturnal hypoxemia, and circadian rhythm disruption.
