Retinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator interacting protein 1-like (RPGRIP1L) protein is crucial for skin cell adhesion. Disrupting RPGRIP1L causes blistering by affecting desmosome maintenance and promoting desmoglein endocytosis, revealing a novel role in the endocytic pathway.
