Abstract:
We study the Inquisition within the River Plate area as an exposition of the general dialectic of classicism and manierism as enunciated by Ernest Robert Curtius, in which madness finds its transcendental meaning. This synthetic essay is based on both archivistic work, and bibliographical analysis of three invaluable foliobooks--unknown to date--discovered at the Archidiocese Archives of the Argentine Province of Córdoba.
