Fellow eyes of patients with unilateral polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy/aneurysmal type 1 neovascularization often show RPE and outer retinal changes. Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) developed in 9% of these eyes, particularly when abnormalities and dilated Haller vessels were present.
